Family visitors

Scott's sister and her family from Pennsylvania came to our house last week. They got in late Wednesday and stayed until Saturday. While they were here we went to the zoo, The Children's Museum, and my parent's house. The Easter bunny also visited our house Friday night so Trestin and Joyce could find eggs.
After they left we went down to my parents for Easter. Scott, Trestin, Kim, and I went to the good ole town of Hope for a Pizza King dinner. Sunday we had a great prime rib lunch/dinner. Followed by some very interesting conversations. My family (by family I mean my dad and Scott) has decided that they should open a strip club in Shelbyville.

Update

So my birthday was good. Scott and I went to TGI Friday's for a nice quiet dinner, just the two of us. Then we came home and relaxed and Scott made me a cake.

I'm done with work for the week so that's nice. Scott's sister, her husband, and their 3 kids are on their way here right now to visit until Saturday afternoon. We are going to the Children's Museum and a cookout/bonfire at my parent's house, if it doesn't rain. The Easter bunny is going to come to our house Friday night so Trestin and her cousin Joyce and find eggs together. The Easter bunny will also come to my parent's house Saturday night as usual.

Since my house is actually clean I took some updated pictures. I'll post them 1 room at a time to keep the anticipation level up ;)

I'll start with the pantry/laundry room and kitchen.

Here is our pantry and kitchen. Our house was a forclosure so we had to buy all new appliances. Since it's not every day you can walk into Sears and buy an entire kitchen/laundry room, we splurged and bought nice stuff. Luckily Sears was doing 20% off Kenmore and another 10% off your entire purchase.

Next time will be the living room!!

Need a good dinner idea

Hopefully Scott and I will start feeling better this week so we can go out Saturday night for my birthday. We need a place to go though. I thought about The Melting Pot, but we don't really have an extra $100 right now and since i've been sick I can't eat as much (which is a good thing). So where's a good place to go that's not too expensive?

Not much new

So not much new has happened since my last post. I finally made it back to work last Thursday and Friday.

Thursday we met with our lawyer and drafted the custody settlement paperwork, so hopefully that will all be done soon.

Friday night we went to my parent's party at the building. We played some dominos and euchre and got to see some friends. Missy aren't you glad you got to come see me :)

Saturday I had to make up a few hours of work.

Sunday we went to Squealer's for Paula's birthday dinner.

Monday-Wednesday we worked.

And today I'm sick again. Woke up with a bad sore throat and fever, again. I just wish I could get over this. Tomorrow I'm going to load up on the Ibuprofen and hopefully be able to make it through work. I'm starting to run out of vacation days and I'm missing a lot of work on my project which is the most important in the company.

Uggg...

It's been a few days since i've update, but nothing has really changes. I was sick last Thursday and Friday with a high fever and head/body ache. Then was fine on Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday morning Scott and I both woke up with a high fever, cough, sore throat and head/body aches. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and basically have the flu. My fever is almost all the way gone so hopefully I will be able to go to work tomorrow.

Also, If anyone is looking for something to do Friday night, my parents are having a leap year party at their building. 5-11 pm at Rendezvous (38 E washington st, across from the post office). They're going to have Guitar Hero, Karaoke, a cash bar, and free food.

I hate being sick :(

I've been home sick with the flu yesterday and today. My fever seems to be getting lower each time I check so that's good. Missy-we probably won't make it to your house tomorrow.

In good news we finally close on our refinancing of our mortage tonight!! We're going from 29 years left on a 30 year loan to a 20 year loan and the payments will still be about $30/mo less.

Spent last night in the emergency room...

Lego, see picture below, has "hot spots" right now. Basically a rash that he continually scratches and chews and is now an infected mess. Hot spots also make a dog very aggressive when you try to touch the spots. So last night Scott was sitting on top of him holding him down while i cleaned it with peroxide. All was well until I got up to get something and lego started moving around and lunged at scott's face. The result was a huge gash in his lip that ended up needing stitches. So we go to the urgent care center ($25 co-pay) and after 30-45 min of waiting are finally seen. They decide that since the cut is past the pink part of his lip they cannot fix it and we must go to the emergency and possibly could need a plastic surgeon to make sure the lip is put back together correctly. So off to the emergency room ($150 co-pay). Once there you would think someone with a huge gash out of their lip would be moved up in line but no. We had to wait about 3 hours because people for some idiotic reason go to the emergency room for colds/flu. We finally got to see the doctor and he stitched it up in about 2 minutes, after about 30-45 min of waiting in our room. I'm still mad the urgent care center didn't just fix it and save us a butt load of money.Lego, the best dog ever, does it look like he could do something like this?
