Merry Christmas!!

2 more days of work then I get 11 straight days off!!!! I can't wait. We finished our last little bit of shopping this weekend and everything is now wrapped and under the tree. We don't have Trestin for christmas this year, we get her back the day after, so Santa has already put everything under the tree. We did come home from dinner tonight to a nice little suprise. One of the dogs decided to open their present early.

I was sick a couple days last week with a stomach bug. The doctor had me come in on Thursday to make sure everything was ok with the baby and it was really just a virus. They did a non-stress test, which was kinda fun. You just sit there for 20 min with a monitor around your stomach and listen to the heartbeat. You could even hear when he kicked.

We finally registred for baby stuff. We were like the blind leading the blind trying to figure out what to register for.

We've also changed our minds on the name. It's no long Brett Anthony and is now Brett Maverick.

Update

I had another dr. apt this week and everything is still good. The holiday's aren't helping out in the weight gain area though. My next apt is Jan 6, then I start going every 2 weeks. It's amazing how fast the time is going. March is probably going to be the slowest month ever though.

Thanksgiving was good. We went to my parents for the day as usual. Lots of food and games. Paula and Richard announced their engagement so there is another wedding to plan for next October.

We cut down and put up our tree last week also. It's rather large, about 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

It's a...........

BOY!!!! I'll post ultrasound pictures as soon as I can find someone to scan them in. There's no good picture of his face though because he was using the placenta as a pillow. Everything looks good and is where it should be so that's good.

Halloween was a lot of fun. We went trick-or-treating then had a bonfire. Trestin was a Monster Bride. Saturday I went to Steve and Janes baby shower at the Sandefurs.

We find out Tuesday what the baby is. Then we are meeting with a potential baby sitter. I'll definately update everyone Tuesday!

Vacation update

Vacation was good. We left Wednesday afternoon and got to PA around 9:30pm.

Thursday we hung out with Scott's sister and took the kids to a big play place.

Friday we went to a pumkin patch, but the hay rides/pumkin patch were only open for groups with reservations during the week. We were able to walk in the corn maze and the kids played in the big play area so it was still ok. We then had lunch at Fuddruckers, we need these in Indiana because it is amazing. You order a hamburger with some specialty toppings such as cheese, bacon, guacamole and then there is a topping bar with anything you can think of to put on a hamburger. And you get a cookie!!!!

Friday night Scott went out to the bar with his brother, sister, and her husband. I didn't go because I didn't want to be around the smoke so I helped babysit the Trestin, Joyce, and the twin boys.

Saturday we went to Gettysburg and of course it was raining. We went to the Boyd's Bear place then left since it was suppose to rain all day. We all went to lunch then we decided to head home rather than wait to leave early in the mornging. We got home around 3:30am Sunday.

Last night we carved pumkins so i'll leave you with vacation pictures and pumkins.

Leavin' on a jet plane, don't know when i'll be back again

1 more day of work then on Wednesday we are off to Pennsylvania to visit Scott's family. Should be a fun trip. We went this time last year and it is very pretty out there with the leaves changing. I'll update with pictures when we return.

Otherwise not much else has been going on. Baby still doing good. Haven't felt anything yet, but hopefully I will soon. Baby shower date is set for Feb 7th, I think, so make sure I have your address!!
Here's a picture of me at 15 weeks and 4 days. I'm starting to show a little, but that's probably mostly from the 6 lbs I've gained than from actual baby poking out.

Baby update

I had my Dr. apointment today and everything is going good. I've gained about 6 lbs and the heartbeat was ~150 bpm. The big ultrasound is November 6th!!!

This past Sunday we went to the Children's Museum with my dad's work. They rent out the museum and haunted house and have a bunch of food, it's great fun.

This coming Sunday Kim, my dad, and I are going to the Colt's game. My dad got suite tickets so i'm super excited. More free food (which is my favorite thing right now because i'm always hungry)!!!

RIP Grandpa

We just got home today from my grandpa's funeral. He passed Thursday September 18 on his and my grandma's 60th wedding anniversary. We drove up to South Bend Sunday morning for the viewing. After the viewing all the aunts/uncles/cousins were going out to dinner. Most of us were at the restuarant and the other's took my grandma home to get her settled for the night before meeting us. They ended up having to call 911 for her because she was delerious and weak. They took her to the hospital and she has fluid on her lungs (which we already knew) and a blood clot in her leg. They are keeping her for a few days so she missed the funeral this morning. Hopefully she will be able to leave the hospital soon. Even though it was bad circumstances, it was nice to see family I haven't seen in several years.

3 year anniversary

Today is our 3 year anniversary!! I can't believe we've been married that long already. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory downtown for dinner and it was great.

The announcement you've all been waiting for!!!!!

I'M PREGNANT!!! Yep that's right. I had my second appointment today and I am 11 weeks. Everything looks great and I got to hear the heartbeat, ~160 bpm. I'm due March 31, 2009. So far everything has been great. I've had absolutely no morning sickness or heartburn. They only thing I have is tons of zits. I feel like I'm 13 again.
I've gained 2 pounds in the last month and my pants are definitely starting to be a little tight. I went ahead and bought some maternity jeans and a pair of dress pants and they are amazing. I never want to wear normal pants again.

Trestin is super excited to be getting a little brother or sister. And yes we are going to find out what it is. We should know mid November.

Been lazy...

Not much has been going on. We're pretty boring I guess. Trestin started 2nd grade and is excited to be back in school. She's not too happy about going to bed while it's still light out though. During the summer all the cul-de-sac kids were out playing until 11 pm and we let Trestin stay out until 10-11. Now that school has started bed time is 8-8:30 and the kids are still out playing until probably 9:30, on a freakin school night. I remember having to be in bed at 8:00 until I was in probably 5th grade.

Sunday we went to the Lucas Stadium season ticket holder tour. My dad's work has a suite so he got 4 tickets for the tour. We got to go in the suite, which is a double suite, has 6 plasma TVs, and a great view of the field, and have free food/drinks. They opened the big window and the roof of the stadium, it's amazing. Too bad I won't get to go to a game with those seats because my mom goes when it's the good seats.

We're having a party this Saturday the 23rd if anyone wants to come!

Friday, August 1, 2008

Well it's been awhile again.

Not too much exciting has happened since my last post. I'd say the big things are:
1. We finally settled the custody stuff. Trestin stays with us for good and all back child support is finally gone.

2. We bought a new TV because ours died (turns out it was only the bulb and an easy fix). So now we have 2 big screen TVs and a new surround sound.

3. We went to Holiday World yesterday. I'm exhausted from that. It was fun though. My mom and dad, Scott, me, Trestin, Kim, and Kim's friend Ryan all went.

4. Kim is moving in with us this weekend to go to IUPUI.

5. Trestin starts second grade on the 13th.

2 posts in one week, I'm on a role.

We had a little issue with our internet this week and lets just say it works now and we will be switching companies next week. I hate brighthouse so we're going to try out the new att cable and internet. Other than that we've had a quiet week. Trestin stayed at my parents house from Sunday to today and is going to her other grandma's tomorrow until Sunday.

I haven't done any house pics in a while so below is the last two rooms Trestin and our bedrooms.
Trestin's room. And yes it really is that big. Her furniture is actually my furniture from when I was little. We painted the bunk bed the same yellow as the kitchen. We painted the dresser, toy chest, and book shelf the same color as the bath room downstairs.

Next our room. We still need to do a little work on ours. I want to get the same color as the back wall but in a different finish and add vertical stripes and we need stuff on the walls.

Finally our bathroom and closet. We haven't done anything with it yet. It is huge though. The closet is as big as my bedroom back home (and yes it's a mess as usual).

Wow it's been a long time.

Well i've been MIA for a while haven't I. We've been super busy the last 2 months.

I finished up my first grading project in 2.5 weeks then had a week off and did another project for 4 weeks. I'm done with those for a while now, if I do another one at all. Lots of extra work, but good money.

Trestin's birthday was April 10th so we went to Chuck E Cheese. Below are some pictures. I can't believe she is 7 years old. She has now officialy been living with us for a year and has passed the first grade. She just got her hair cut this week and it is super cute.

We finally have some landscaping around our house. I'll try to get some pictures this weekend once I get all the weeds out of the new dirt we put down. There were no weeds until we added more dirt, not to happy about that.

We also traded in the Saturn Vue (before it was completely worthless even though we lost $5000 on the trade in) and got a new 2008 Ford Focus. Great car and gas mileage. It has a USB port to attach an IPod so you can voice control the IPod and a cell phone with bluetooth. I'll try to get pictures of the car soon too.

Kim graduated highschool and had her graduation party yesterday so that was lots of fun.

1 week down, 3 to go

My first week of 2 jobs actually wasn't too bad. We trained all week on how to grade the tests and on Friday finally got started grading. It's amazing what 8th grade kids can come up with to answer a question about a passage they read. Hopefully the next 3 weeks go good and i'm not too tired during the week.

Now on to more of our house. Today is the front door, stair way, upstairs bath, and guest room.

Office/pool table room

Here is our office/pool table room. You know I've always wanted a pool table, but once you get one you don't use it after the first month. At least is was free. We'll eventually give it to my mom to use in her business when they redo the upstairs.

stuff

Trestin went to her first Pacer's game last night with my dad. They sat in the 4th row so she got a lot of attention from the mascots. I wish I some pictures, i guess i should have given my dad my camera.
I applied for a second job grading tests for McGraw-Hill last week and today I was notified I'm on the project starting Monday. It's a 4 week project that I will be working 5:30-10:30 plus 8 hours at my normal job. So I'm going to be very tired for 4 weeks. I'm a little worried about the house/dogs/Trestin, not sure how Scott is going to handle me not being home during the week.

Finally some more house pictures. Today is the living room and downstairs bath. As you can see from the pictures the living room is next to the kitchen. Our house has an open floor plan so there are really no walls between rooms.
